Focus on ancient and early modern India, the emergence of religious diversity, the rise of Buddhism, Islam, Sikhism and trans-regional connections with the outside world. Explores modern institutions from the early 18th century through 1947, featuring the rise of the East India Companies, the 1857-58 rebellions, the British Empire in India, the rise of nationalism and the partition of colonial India.
